Lightsaber Forms of Fighting

Form I – Shii-Cho (multiple opponents, persistent and simple)
Form II - Makashi (duel-centred, requires timing, accuracy and skill rather than strength)
Form III - Soresu (defensive, short and tight movements, created for deflecting shots)
Form IV - Ataru (aggressive, requires power, strength and speed)
Form V - Shien / Djem So (more offensive form of Soresu)
Form VI - Niman/Jar'Kai (combination of all other forms / dual-saber form)
Form VII - Juyo (most vicious form, chaotic and erratic, most difficult and demanding)
Form VII (along with Juyo) - Vaapad (appears erratic, focuses on physical combat, requires a great hold over the Force)
Trispzest (aerial dueling mixed with Juyo)
Tràkata (involves the on-and-off function of lightsabers; deceptive and focusing on practical combat)
Sokan (relies on agility; focuses on using terrain to gain advantage)
Dun Möch (calls for great patience and control; relies on taunts exposing inner weaknesses to distract opponent)

Updated Profile Form
Message from the Editor:
I developed this form because I wanted to separate the different aspects of a person into their proper places. There are three parts of a person; the body, the soul, and the spirit. The body is what can be sensed with the five physical senses; physical. The soul consists of the mind, the will, and the emotions; emotional. The spirit is the spirit. Spiritual. And so I decided to change the order of these aspects of a character's profile.
You'll notice that I separated 'Clothing' from 'Appearance' and 'Armour'. I find that people using the original form tend to put Jedi or Sith robes in the 'Armour' or 'Appearance' format. 'Armour' and 'Clothing' are changeable. 'Appearance' is an unchangeable, to a degree. (I mean, you can change your hairstyle, dye your hair, lose weight. But there are several unchangeable things there, like eye colour.)
You most certainly do not have to change all of your profiles to reflect this updated form. I probably will sometime. But I'd be pleased if you began to use this updated form.
Thank you for your time reading this.

Bounties Form
This is a slightly different form from the usual profile form. This one has been specifically developed for minor characters who are created for the purpose of having bounties on their heads in order to provide characters for bounty hunters to capture. These characters are not active in the way that other characters are; they are for the purpose of being bounties and are controlled by their respective authors against the bounty hunters who wish to capture them. It is up to the author whether they engage in the Battle beyond that.
Notice that none of the profile aspects say anything about the character's personality, abilities or weaknesses. Background may have a few abilities, though. For example, it may note that the character is Force-sensitive.

  1. Thanks! Just one thing I noticed, with Niman and Jar'kai, the descriptions don't line up with the styles(Jar'kai coming second and its description coming first). And aren't Vaapad and Juyo both considered Form VII?

Quick question. Are you(Dmitri) currently the only one who controls the blog, and is it possible for others to be made able to edit it?

    Great work on it!!

    1. Yeah, thanks, Ellron. I've changed those things…I'm not an expert in Star Wars.

Yes, I am the only one who controls the blog, but apparently, Blogger does allow multiple editors. I need to know the person's email address, though, in order to invite them.

  2. What's the "Profile Form" there for?

    1. Ohhh, this page is Resources in general . . . that explains it.

We should add some star wars wiki pages to this. Some basic ones about the time period, maybe some of the equipment and other facts. Here are a few you might consider:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Old_Sith_Wars - The battle occurs in the later years of the Old Sith Wars, so this is an important article.
      http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith_trooper
      http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_trooper
